It should be no surprise that I am disappointed, saddened, heated, and even disgusted to the very core. But what might surprise you is that I'm not feeling that way toward the big O himself. I'm feeling that way toward my fellow Americans who actually believe that this man can steer our country. Some of you actually believe that he's capable of doing what he's promised. You're all high if you think you're going to have more money in the end, because that couldn't be further from the truth. And judging by the media coverage and the people they're interviewing, they are lining up right now for the big handout. Ugh....I could go on and on....but I'm too worked up to even think straight.
I can only hope that for my sake and for my family's sake, he doesn't leave me saying "I told you so" in just a couple of years. Although, that would feel really good....

They will get their handout from my husband's paycheck. And my dad's paycheck. My dad worked forty years to retire and enjoy life. He made a fair amount of money. He was just turned down for a mortgage on a modest home because his taxes are too high already. My mom was just turned down for medicare. And her insurance stops in Feb. My dad worked overtime and weekends and will end up with nothing. My sister in law and her "husband" haven't worked a day in there life but they have free heat, free food, free clothing, free schooling, and free healthcare. My dad made it all possible for them. It is what it is. I am going to try to be positive about it, but it doesn't look good.
Ugh, what a story. Sorry to hear that. Same goes for my Dad who's been working underground in a shithole mine for 30+ years and will probably go to work for walmart when he retires, like everyone else.
Such a disgrace, but I will join you and try to be positive. What else can we do??
Well, I am your fellow American who voted for the "big O". I may be "high" (in your eyes), but it SURE isn't about the money. Joe and I could truly care less if we have more money "in the end" when Mr. Obama leaves office, but what I DO care about is if this country can come out of it's downward spiral. There is no way to say for sure if he can help us, as there would be no way to say for sure if Mr. McCain could have, but there was absolutely NO WAY we were going take the chance of voting for what could possibly have been partly more of the same...........I would imagine that everyone would agree that this country needs a change of some sort, either way. And if I truly believed that the Republican candidate would have had more of a chance to make the change, I would have (forced myself) to fill in the oval by his name.
I voted for Obama, and I don't hope this for MY sake, but I hope for ALL of America's sake that you don't have to say "I told you so."......even though I'm not a fan of people talking in "hind-sight". But it is easier, isn't it?
..........I don't want this comment to offend you, as I respect the opinion on your post. We obviously just feel totally opposite on this one. But who is to say which one of us is "right"?
