Brendan's First Halloween

Okay, so we didn't spend a fortune on his first Halloween by putting him in a fancy-shmancy costume. I was lucky enough that my MIL's friend dropped off the t-shirt and hat, or he wouldn't of looked this festive at all. I just didn't see the point in going all out since we didn't have any big plans anyway, especially with the hubby being out of town this week. The pharmacy was kind enough to take a free photo of us which I thought was great, although it looks as though I've got something written on my face. (Brendan's hair I believe.) Anyway, we had a good time. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house and helped them hand out candy, then dodged all the trick-or-treaters when we got home. I wasn't planning on being home so early and by golly, they must've been 50 kids walking down the street when I pulled into the driveway. "Trick or Treat!" "Oh sorry guys, I don't have any candy to hand out, we weren't supposed to be here this evening..." "Awwww man!!" I spent the rest of the evening stumbling around in the dark so that I could fool everyone into thinking we weren't home. I didn't want to be the mean ol' hag with no candy. I'm lucky our house didn't get egged.

Hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween.

Lynsey,

Try not to stress out about Brendan. Iknow it's hard with the first one, but all babies/kids are different and they all do things at their own pace. None of my kids have hit the milestones at the same ages.

Elizabeth just began rolling 2 weeks ago. She was six months old. She can scoot a little now but can't sit up, not even close. She absolutely hated tummy time and I never really enforced it. Adam crawled at four months. He walked the day before he turned ten months and, honest to pete, he rolled at 1 month. Jacob didn't do a darn thing until he was eight months old and then he did it all in about three weeks time.

Enjoy the baby. Enjoy non-mobility. Believe me, you'll wonder where the lumpy baby went soon enough.

Are you worrying about B-lo?? Don't even go there until he starts moving and you don't even flippin realize it until they tumble down the stairs and you just KNOW they are gonna have major memory problems in the future...Yep, that is the joy of mobility....
